CARE SPECIALIST JANET SHREEVE HELPS DORSET COMPANY DEVELOP LIVE-IN CARE SERVICES

CARE specialist Janet Shreeve, founder of Shreeve Care Services, has teamed up with home care company Silverstars Care to develop a live-in care service.

SilverStars Care is based in Sherborne, Dorset and was set up in 2017 by Ewelina Wiesner to offer domiciliary care support in the county. Ewelina had worked as a carer for several years but decided to set up her own business to align with her values around social care.

“I love working in care and in helping others to continue to enjoy the beauty of life regardless of their circumstances. I believed and still believe, that care has to be bepoke and want to offer the level of care to others that I’d like to receive myself,” Ewelina said.

Ewelina’s business has now evolved to a team of 50 people looking after around 120 clients at any one time, mostly in Dorset and Somerset. Now she feels the time is right to launch a live-in care service which is national and which builds upon her company’s reputation.

“Live-in care is something I’ve been considering for a while and now the time is right to develop a new area of the business. Some people, supported by their families, want to stay within their home with a carer living with them to provide the support they need, tailored exactly to their needs, or evolving over time.

“They want that one-to-one support enabling them to develop a strong if professional bond with a qualified carer or carers – depending on the level of support needed.”

Janet Shreeve, who has over 20 years’ experience in the care sector, is an expert at helping companies provide a live-in care solution for clients who wish to receive live-in care in their own homes by one, or a group of carers, who are consistent.

Janet said: “It’s fantastic to be able to support Ewelina and the Silverstars team to offer this kind of care to those who want it. Live-in care often gets overlooked as a viable option for those who require care.

“The difference to other forms of care is that a carer lives with the person needing support and offers a range of help to allow that person to live their best possible life. This includes personal care if required, companionship, household duties – all arranged according to the person’s – and their family’s wishes.

“A good provider of this type of care will provide up to date care plans and reviews withi wider family members as well as a commitment to being a supporter and friend to the person needing care.”

Live-in care can be a permanent or temporary solution to people who need care including:

*Long term support

*Respite care or holiday cover

*Care for holidays (ie. taking a carer on holiday to provide support)

*Short term for periods of immobility eg. following an operation.

*Monday to Friday cover for part-time carers who have another profession.

Janet, who established Shreeve Care Services almost two years ago offers consultancy services for both care providers and for families in navigating the complex care system. She is also an adviser to the Board of Care and Support West, which is an advocacy and representative body for companies, charities, organisations, and individuals operating within the social care, support, and health sectors in the West of England.
