TGt Meets...Adam Greenwood, The Human Tech Agency

Meet our latest TGt Meets...Adam Greenwood, from The Human Tech Agency.

Tell us about yourself

I am a father of three, I am blessed to have an incredible wife, friends and family. We live in Southbourne, near the sea and the river. I love to cook and eat good food, drink nice wine and work off the calories in the gym and on the paddleboard. I also enjoy playing guitar, movies, books, video games, skiing and wakeboarding!

Tell us about your business

We call ourselves The Human Tech Agency because our purpose is to improve people's lives. By combining empathy, research, and data-driven insights, we unravel the motivations and desires of users and by utilising the most advanced technology available, we craft engaging and captivating digital experiences.

You’re an international speaker. Do you get nervous?

Absolutely! I travelled to Bogota and was really nervous about speaking, and also about being kidnapped as my hotel was under 24-hour armed guard! I find that the best way to get over my nerves is by practising and practising my talk until I am bored of hearing it!

What is your biggest achievement to date?

Founding and running a successful agency that is still going after 14 years. We have been through ups and downs, got through growth and redundancies, the pandemic and two rebrands. Our team culture is very strong and I am proud of the work that we do.

Can you share your hopes for the future of business in Dorset?

I hope it continues to thrive, I think that with hybrid working, more exciting and successful people will move here. I want to stay here as the lifestyle is amazing, so I hope that larger tech companies come here and there are more opportunities for everyone who lives here.

How important do you believe collaboration and networking within the Dorset business community is?

Very, I think that business owners all go through the same ups and downs and have the same concerns. I have met some incredible people here and have been able to bare my business soul to them. I think I have also been a good listener and I hope I’ve been able to give some sage advice.

Who inspires you?

Bit of a cheesy answer I know but my dad. He ran a very successful aviation business in Hampshire and I worked for him throughout my 20s. He taught me that you can be successful without being b#$%#d.

When you’re not busy working, what do you love doing with your time off?

I love paddleboarding around Brownsea Island, so much so that I proposed to my wife whilst doing it! I also really enjoy the forest and river with the kids.

Tell us about your favourite restaurant in Dorset?

It has to be The Pig at Sandbanks - especially in the Summer, those views are unparalleled.

What book are you reading at the moment?

Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes, is a brutal and honest depiction of the Vietnam War, not for the faint-hearted!
