Tell us about coaching business
Jules Whale Life Coaching came about after I had decided to change the course of my own life. A change which happened as a result of experiencing rapid life and mindset change. I had a great career and all of the trappings which came with it. The problem was that I just couldn’t shake off the anger, guilt and resentment I felt as a hangover from my past life. When I started learning about NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) it brought clarity and a seismic shift in my thinking. The results were astounding and I grabbed the opportunity to start my own life coaching company and share this amazing process.
You hold retreats! We would love to know more.
I offer Breakthrough Days for people who want to experience a rapid change to their own mindset. We can unpack and repack your entire life to date in just one day! These days are popular with those who want a rapid change and who may have been struggling for ages with something being ’not quite right’.
The Life Changing Retreat weekends came about after talking with a fellow coach and good friend Sam Dyer. We spoke about giving women the opportunity to get away from it all for a weekend and basically change their whole way of thinking. We take a group of women to an amazing castle in Devon and during the course of the weekend, something happens which changes their lives! We have 5* reviews for these weekends and we are super proud of what we offer.
Has there been a particular business highlight in 2023?
A particular business highlight for me in 2023 was being asked to speak on personal development courses for Dorset policewomen. Sharing stories with them was both motivational and inspirational (their words!). This is so rewarding and enriching for me, not only as a coach, but as a fellow woman who used to struggle to change anything about my life.
Any exciting news to share for 2024?
2024 is going to be a brilliant year. My life coaching is doing well and I've just signed up with Sam Dyer to facilitate Retreat Days at The Hilton Hotel, Bournemouth. These days will offer clients the opportunity to explore changes they wish to make and help them create the way to do it. This together with the Life Changing Retreat weekends is going to keep me busy.
What do you most love about working in Dorset?
Dorset is very special to me. I first came here from London when my children were a lot younger. It became a place of calm and solace. I feel a sense of healing when I am out and about in the countryside or at the coast.
Such is the lure, I persuaded my husband that we sell our Salisbury house and my coaching studio, and head down to live in a dilapidated bungalow in Dorset. Creating a beautiful coaching space in my studio at Bayside Business Centre was part of the plan. The sense of calm and nurturing in my space is restorative and being next to the sea is an added bonus.
When you’re not busy working, what do you love doing with your time off?
I would like to say that I spend my spare time renovating our home, but that wouldn’t be strictly true. My job is to create the vision and my husband does the actual work! We have 7 young grandchildren which keep me busy and I love to travel, especially to see my daughter in Colorado. Eating out is a pleasure and we love long walks with our dogs too.
Tell us about your favourite local restaurant
Talking of eating out, my favourite local restaurant is Lake Yard. The menu is always fresh and varied and the service is really good. My favourite pub is The Fox Inn at Ansty, which is useful as we can walk home across the fields after a glass or two.
