The £3million pioneering workspace will be a base for up to 250 people when it opens in the Dolphin Centre in 2023 and offers flexible and affordable options for all sectors. From the county’s business leaders, untethered co-workers, and budding entrepreneurs from all business sectors. FOUNDRY is for everyone and creates a diverse environment for people to come together to work, network and socialise.
The FOUNDRY reception is located on the first floor of the Dolphin Centre opposite the stairway to the library. FOUNDRY will be split over two levels and comprises serviced offices called ‘studios’, an exclusive members’ lounge, and bar area where members and their guests can come together to meet, network, and collaborate in a beautifully designed members’ lounge.
Additionally, there will be meeting rooms available to book and an extensive programme of locally themed events hosted in the lounge, giving local inspirational speakers a platform to share their story.
Adam Walker, Co-Founder of FOUNDRY, said: “It is a really exciting time as the build of FOUNDRY continues to progress, and we’re now in the position to be able to share what our team has been busy creating for the aspirational business community of Poole. We are offering location tours for those interested in how FOUNDRY can enhance their current workplace situation by immersing themselves in a carefully curated community, with the opportunity to make new connections and collaborate with members from a variety of sectors.”
The sixties architecture of the building has been highlighted in FOUNDRY’s design by reimagining the original features and retrofitting an infrastructure fit for the workplace of the future.
Adam added: “FOUNDRY will be a place that celebrates Poole, and the team has embedded nods to our local community throughout the building’s design. We have teamed up with Mathmos, the local brand who invented the original Lava Lamp back in the sixties here in Poole, to create our very own FOUNDRY Lava Lamp. These will adorn our concierge-style lobby and will be the first striking feature that people will be greeted with when they enter FOUNDRY.
“We are creating an aspirational and vibrant workplace that people are proud to work from that reflects the pride that locals feel for the town.”
FOUNDRY is a joint initiative with the Dolphin Centre owners, Legal and General Investment Management Real Assets (LGIM). It complements the variety of new initiatives that have launched at the Dolphin over the past two years, as part of the centre’s re-imagining to draw more people to the town centre.
FOUNDRY Poole is one of two sites currently in the pipeline, with Walthamstow in east London set to open next summer. The first site opened in Eastbourne earlier this year at LGIM’s centre, The Beaco.
