Review: SmartBase Coworking Office Space in Bournemouth

SmartBase is a premium workspace located in East Parley. A couple of us from the TGt team went down to spend a day working remotely from SmartBase to experience everything SmartBase has to offer.

What is SmartBase?

SmartBase is a coworking space in Bournemouth, ideal for remote workers, self-employed workers and small teams. They offer very flexible coworking areas and cater to various different needs; with spaces that accommodate remote working, meeting rooms, office rental and events spaces! SmartBase are offering their new Lounge Pass. 

What is the SmartBase Lounge Pass?

This Lounge Pass package includes access to SmartBase’s Sky Lounge area. This lounge features many different seating areas to accommodate to everyone’s work needs. There are quiet booths for solo working, comfortable areas featuring sofas and blankets (perfect for a quick meeting), and a sky deck; offering views across Bournemouth Airport and a lovely outdoor working area for those sunny days where you’d rather be anywhere but trapped inside. You will also be able to find amenities such as a barista quality coffee machine in the Lounge’s kitchen and vending machines for when you’re wanting a quick snack. 

Members of this Lounge Pass package will also gain access to SmartBase’s modern and spacious gym! This space is perfect to utilise when getting yourself amped up for the workday or for a change of pace during your lunch break. Whether you are weight training, in need of some cardio or training core, the gym is decked out to suit all types of gym goers. Don’t forget to grab some ice water on your way out and jump in one of their showers after your workout. 

Just nearby are two food vendors, so you will never be in need of a lunchtime food run as this can be ordered right to the offices! Our favourite being Peaches of Bournemouth, in which we ordered some delicious baguettes for lunch. If you’re looking for a hearty and filling lunch, then there are also hot jacket potatoes on the menu!

SmartBase is situated in East Parley, Christchurch and overlooking Bournemouth Airport. It’s conveniently a 15 minute drive from Castlepoint, making this coworking space easily accessible to drivers.

Conclusion

We very much enjoyed our day of remote working at SmartBase. The Sky Lounge provided a great creative and warm environment for us to bounce ideas off and get some work done. We loved the multiple options on offer in this space, we found ourselves moving around to suit our needs; from chatting on the sofas, to answering some emails at the tables and even heading off for some solo work and calls at the booths. This would be a great workspace to remote workers or small teams alike. We loved grabbing a quick post-lunch quality coffee in the lounge to lift our energy levels up for the remainder of the day. 

The sylish and well-equipped gym was just a cherry on top of the cake! This could be a perfect option for workers who feel they don’t have enough time in the day to fit in work AND the gym. We just slid off for a quick 30 minute workout during our day, and it was a great change of pace! 

For a team, the Lounge Pass is £70pp per month, or for a solo remote worker then this would be £80pp per month!
