What is your role at NFU Mutual Bournemouth?

Darren is an Agent at the NFU Mutual New Forest, Isle of Wight and Bournemouth agency alongside his two business partners John and Simon. He is also a Senior Group Secretary for the NFU. We are a team of over forty people who look after individuals and businesses, large and small, across East Dorset, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight.

It's not widely known but as an agency, we are a local business in our own right, with our team living in the communities we serve, giving us great local knowledge. What sets us apart is we still offer a local personal approach. Our customers can come in and see us and we can often be found in one of our customer's premises enjoying a meal or event.

What is your favourite part about networking?

Darren thoroughly enjoys networking as he enjoys meeting the many different characters, full of passion, and hearing how they built their business.

Do you love working locally?

Darren’s favourite thing about working locally is meeting local customers at their premises across the New Forest, Isle of Wight and Bournemouth area – one of the most beautiful places in the UK and a place to some of the most wonderfully diverse and interesting businesses.

What does your typical day off consist of?

When Darren isn’t working, he can be found sailing or cycling. But admittedly he does really enjoy locally sourced and prepared hospitality businesses and is often found supporting many food and drink businesses across the region.

Can you give us an interesting fact about you?

Something you may not know about Darren, but he became a member of the BH Area Hospitality Association committee earlier this year as he firmly believes in giving back to his local community. As an agency, we also support them through a long-term sponsorship of their BAHA Recognition Awards to give thanks to the incredible hospitality sector.
