In this TGT Meets, we get to know our very own Total Guide To Intern, Beth! To learn more about what attracted Beth to Total Guide, her experience so far and career aspirations, read below.

What are you most excited to learn about during your work experience at Total Guide to?

To see all the behind-the-scenes preparation that goes into promotion on social media.

What are your favourite hobbies?

I love reading and playing the guitar.

Did anything you have learned in school prepare you for your work experience?

Doing Media Studies as a GCSE and A Level has really helped me understand what an audience is looking for in a project.

What are you interested in doing in the future?

I really enjoy media so want to peruse something related to that in the future.

Some of the tasks you’ve done far, are they what you thought digital marketing would be like?

Some has been, but I didn’t realise how much work goes into promoting just one product/ place.

Would you recommend work experience to other young people exploring their career options, and why?

I would recommend it because you can’t get a better understanding of the workplace unless you have tried it yourself. It also looks better if you already have some experience in that field.

Which quality or skill do you think someone needs to work in marketing?

Good communication due to talking to so many clients.

What’s your favourite social media platform and why?

Tik Tok, I find it very entertaining.

What’s your favourite restaurant?

It has to be Prezzo, I love Italian.
