Tell us a bit about yourself...
I have been hairdressing for over 35 years, I have progressed from Saturday assistant, through to full time college learner, into a salon placement working my way to a senior stylist.
Then I moved onto owning my own salon, progressing to work for Toni & Guy. 16 years ago I joined Francesco Group where I have worked in the salon as a colour specialist, then into education as a relationship manager, an educator and relocated with the company to be an Academy manager where I am today.
Tell us about your business...
Francesco Group are a private learning provider, providing apprenticeships in hairdressing.
What do you love most about your job?
Sharing my skills and knowledge with the future generations of hairdressers and educators.
What is your proudest achievement in your career?
My colour specialist degree, my teaching degree, personal life and my daughter.
This year’s IWD theme is ‘Inspire Inclusion’ – what does this mean to you?
To Embrace everyone's differences, inclusion of all- regardless of differences, do not judge or mock, but support, be kind and ensure everyone is invited to the party!
What are the biggest challenges you have faced in your career?
The biggest challenges I have faced was Covid and rise in mental health and illness.
How do you balance your business and personal life?
At times it is hard, each day is different, having an amazing company and team to work with has supported me to achieve this balance.
Which women inspire you the most?
I don't have any specific individuals, everyone inspires me in different ways and at different times.
