TGt Meets: Rosie Johnson of SmartBase
Meet Rosie, the Centre Assistant Manager of SmartBase. We put Rosie under the spotlight to find out more about her and SmartBase.
Can you explain what SmartBase is and what services you offer?
Smartbase is a state-of-the-art business centre on the Aviation Business Park at Bournemouth Airport offering serviced offices, coworking and meeting rooms.
What is a facility of your workspaces designed to ensure tenant satisfaction?
Smartbase provides flexibility to all members ensuring 24/7 access, with desks available from as little as one day. We provide a professional business environment for clients to focus, increase productivity and collaborate with others.
What does the day-to-day in your role as Assistant Manager at SmartBase look like?
My typical day starts with opening the centre, and after checking the calendar for overnight bookings, I make sure all the meeting rooms are set up for the day and the centre is generally ready for a busy day. I ensure the barista machine is fully topped up with fresh beans and milk ready for the first person looking for caffeine! Meeting room customers arrive soon after, so I greet them and show them to their rooms whilst making sure they have everything they need in our boardroom and smaller meeting rooms.
Office members let me know about the developments for the day such as visitors and deliveries. I return to reception and check my emails and calendar for the day to see I have a tour for a co-working space. During the tour, we look at the different options for our co-working lounge including dedicated desks or hot desks. I show our potential client some of our main features in the building including the gym, our skylounge, the roof terrace and talk about the flexible working we offer. I offer the customer a free trial day and we agree a date.
Soon after, our caterer arrives and I deliver lunch to the Skylounge, our fantastic rooftop lounge and let the meeting room clients know. I take time in the afternoon to make sure that our social media is up to date and do forward planning for the week. I do a check around the centre to ensure the stocks are looking good for our clients and prepare for our breakfast meeting in the Skylounge for the following day.
Towards the end of the day, I make sure everything is tidy and ready for another busy day including cleaning the meeting rooms and re-plenishing them. At 5:30 our reception desk closes, end of a busy day.
What separated SmartBase from other office workspaces in Dorset?
Smartbase is a new build and was designed by interior designers who have worked with large corporations around the country. Its innovative design draws from the most cutting-edge workspaces in its layout and features.
Does SmartBase keep up with industry trends and why?
Smartbase has the latest technology with regards to access systems which utilise keyless entry and security. We operate one management system which covers all aspects of running a busy centre.
