Review: Festive Afternoon Tea at The Queens Hotel & Spa Bournemouth

We recently enjoyed a festive day in Bournemouth with the littlest total team members we started off with ice skating, we went to see the lights in Christmas tree wonderland, visited the Christmas market which takes over the square at this time of year and when we just couldn’t shop any more we headed to The Queen Hotel for a delightful afternoon tea.

Just a short walk from the town centre, The Queens Hotel recently unveiled its festive afternoon tea, promising a merry experience for all. With the Queen's Hotel you always know you are going to get a friendly welcome and good food. We have dined here a couple of times before but never tried the afternoon tea; we were not disappointed.

As we arrived the festive ambiance instantly set the tone for our afternoon. The girls were very quick to spot the gorgeous Christmas trees we quickly steered them to our table before they could do too much damage ‘redecorating’ them.

We pulled crackers and got our crowns on before the afternoon tea was served. Not only did it look divine, but it was delicious! I love the stands they were served on so unique.

The girls had cheese and ham sandwiches while we enjoyed a selection of sarnies including smoked salmon and cream cheese, egg mayo, ham, and my personal favourite the turkey and cranberry served in a brioche bun. Sandwiches are always my favourite part of an afternoon tea, and these were all delicious.

On to the sweet treats, which contained so many festive surprises which the kids loved from the snowman meringue and a gingerbread mince, the star of the show was undeniably the chocolate brownie cleverly crafted into the guise of a Christmas pudding, an instant hit disappearing from the plate in a matter of seconds.

No festive tea would be complete without scones, and The Queen Hotel did not disappoint. The warm, freshly baked scones, served with clotted cream and strawberry jam, were simply perfection.

In conclusion, The Queen Hotel's festive afternoon tea was a fantastic experience for both adults and children alike. The gorgeous setting, the delicious treats, and the attentive service made it the perfect way to conclude our festive day. If you are looking for a festive afternoon treat you will not be disappointed by The Queen Hotel’s offering.
