Guildhall Tavern

REVIEW: Check out the wine and dine for £29 offer at The Guildhall Tavern with us!

Nestled in the heart of Poole, the Guildhall Tavern has long been celebrated for its welcoming atmosphere, their exceptional service, and of course the outstanding dishes.

With its recent inclusion in the prestigious MICHELIN Restaurant Guide and the continued retention of its 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, the Guildhall tavern is truly a jewel in Dorset’s dining scene. This January they have a brand-new Wine and Dine offer that combines their exquisite menu with incredible value, making it the perfect spot for some indulgence this January.

For just £29, you can enjoy two courses accompanied by a glass of house wine, or you can opt for three courses at £35! We headed down to check it out.

The starters included a delicious ham hock terrine (which I opted for, it was rich and flavorful with a perfect balance of seasoning and the chutney it was served with was amazing! The cheese soufflé which arrived still bubbling and gave me real food envy was light, airy, and oozing with cheesy goodness. Seafood lovers will adore the twisted prawn cocktail, or the Poole bay crab, caught locally and served on ciabatta.

For mains, the spotlight shone on the lobster. I didn’t have this, but when it came out for the others, I wish I had. The lobster was freshly caught from Poole Bay that very morning, with the meat cooked to absolute perfection, allowing the freshness of the local seafood to truly shine. The sea bass (which I went for) was delicious though, again perfectly cooked with a nice crispy skin, it was paired with mussels and a vibrant saffron sauce. Other dishes on the menu included mushroom risotto and chicken Milanese. Although the Guildhall Tavern is famous for its gorgeous seafood there really is something to suit all taste buds.

The dessert options ensure your meal ends on a high note. With options including a sticky toffee pudding, drenched in a luscious toffee sauce. A gorgeous apple and macadamia nut crumble and the milk chocolate crèmeux.

The offer is available from 12 pm to 3 pm Wednesday through Saturday and 5 pm to 9 pm on Wednesday and Thursday, for both leisurely lunches and evening meals.

The Guildhall Tavern’s success isn’t just about its food; it’s about the entire experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were attentive ensuring our visit was perfect.

This January, why not embrace the opportunity to indulge? Everyone deserves a treat, and the Guildhall Tavern’s Wine and Dine offer is the perfect way to shake off the winter blues. With its exceptional value, impeccable menu, and the restaurant’s well-earned accolades, there’s never been a better time to experience all that this Poole gem has to offer.

Book your table today and discover the Guildhall Tavern this January.
