Hall & Woodhouse commits to community support as lockdown eases

Hall & Woodhouse (H&W) has temporarily rebranded its Forum Lager to celebrate the re-opening of its pubs, with a percentage of sales going to local charities across the south.

The Helles-style lager, which is brewed exclusively at H&W’s Brewery in Dorset, has been temporarily rebranded to Unlock’d Lager to commemorate the reuniting of communities, after the nationwide lockdown. The charity initiative and new temporary name was developed by H&W’s Brewing Team.

To accompany the temporary re-brand, the family brewer has pledged to donate 10p from the sale of every pint to the pub’s local chosen charity. In addition, £1 per case of bottles sold in the Brewery Shop, either online or in-store, will go to Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance Charity.

Anthony Woodhouse, Chairman at Hall & Woodhouse, said: “It was a great feeling unlocking the doors and re-opening our pubs to guests again after the UK lockdown. Our pubs sit at the heart of our communities and it’s fantastic to be able to welcome back some familiar faces, albeit in a slightly different way.

“As we begin to serve great beer to guests once again, we are mindful of the severe impact the coronavirus crisis has had on charities across the UK. Unlock’d Lager gives us a way to celebrate our communities’ strength during the pandemic, whilst providing our local, chosen charities with some extra support at a time when they really need it most.”

Hall & Woodhouse began the phased re-opening of its managed pubs at the start of the month and from Tuesday August 4, guests will be able to benefit from the ‘Eat Out To Help Out’ scheme at all managed pubs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, until Wednesday August 26. The pubs are currently closed on Mondays but will be open for guests to take part in the scheme on the August Bank Holiday Monday.

Guests can claim 50% off food and non-alcoholic drinks up to the value of £10 per person, no vouchers necessary. The Unlock’d Lager charity initiative runs until Wednesday September 30. Please visit www.hall-woodhouse.co.uk for more information.
