La-Mia’s Turns One! Poole Quay’s Family-Run Favourite Celebrates a Year of Success
Poole, Dorset—On May 1st, La-Mia’s Harbourside Restaurant & Bar on Poole Quay will mark its first anniversary, celebrating a year since it opened its doors. Since then, La-Mia’s has become a must-visit for food lovers, bringing people together over delicious Mediterranean-inspired dishes in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Poole local and devoted mum Carly Jervis-Goode has brought a fresh new flavour and energy to the quay with the opening of La-Mia’s. Inspired by her late father, Ian Goode, who ran a thriving hotel in Bournemouth, Carly set out to honour his legacy and a lifelong passion for hospitality. In May 2024, she took a leap of faith and opened the doors to her very own restaurant, naming it after her first-born Mia. The response from the local community has been nothing short of extraordinary.
La-Mia’s menu is inspired by Carly’s passion for bringing people together over small dishes that spark conversation. Designed for sharing and social dining, the restaurant has welcomed famous faces, including Harry Redknapp, Steve Fletcher, and Chris Jarvis, alongside incredible live music acts that have become a staple of the La-Mia’s experience.
Reflecting on the first year, Carly says:
“The support and growth we’ve seen since opening has been incredible. There has never been any doubt that launching La-Mia’s was the right decision. It has become more than just a restaurant; it is the place where people come and create memories with friends and family. I love seeing them relax, chat, and laugh while enjoying our food.”
In just one year, La-Mia’s has actively supported Poole’s local economy, collaborating with Poole BID and Poole Quay Events to promote the area. Carly is a Director of Poole BID, a proud ambassador for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, and La-Mia’s sponsors Poole Town Football Club, the DMB Tourism Awards 2025, Poole Goes Vintage, and this year’s Christmas panto at Lighthouse Poole, starring Chris Jarvis.
