The Britannia, Parkstone to host ‘Lunch & Canvas’ event this month to celebrate launch of April lunch club menu

A dog friendly pub in Parkstone is inviting people to come and taste their new seasonal lunch menu alongside an initiative to help bring communities together through art.

To celebrate the launch of their April Lunch Club menu, The Britannia in Parkstone are adding a stroke of creativity into their lunch service. The pub will host a ‘Lunch & Canvas’ event on Friday 19th April at 1pm, featuring local business ‘Tipsy Canvas’ who will provide relaxed canvas painting sessions, which diners can choose to partake in alongside their fixed price lunch menu.

The April Lunch Club which launched today will not only showcase some of the season’s best produce and give you a tasty fixed price lunch menu, but also encourage locals to get out of their houses, get down to their local, and get cosy by the fire or in one of the pubs many homely spots. During Lunch Club, served Monday to Friday from 12-5pm, diners can enjoy 2 courses for £18.50 or 3 courses for £23.50.

The Britannia, awarded the top 3 star rating from The Sustainable Restaurant Association, will change the dishes of this set menu monthly to celebrate the delicious seasonal ingredients that each season brings.

As Spring is officially sprung, it’s only fitting that this April should celebrate all things green, with a seasonal spotlight on an array of British-grown gems, including the brilliantly green and deliciously sweet green pea featured in their pea and mint soup starter. Minted peas and peppery watercress are also being served up alongside their succulent grilled haddock, as well as chicken ballotine, steak frites and a vegan friendly chickpea salad.

To complete this seasonal feast guests can sample a sweet pineapple pavlova, cherry and apple compote or a rich chocolate marquise for dessert.

Preceding the release of Heartwood Inns’ new dedicated Dog Menu, which coincides with National Pet Day on April 11th, dogs can join their owners and indulge in a range of flavourful and nutritious dishes from canine hospitality partner Sir Woofchester, choosing from menu items including a 'roast dinner bowl’ and 'fish and chips'.

This isn’t the only thing guests, and their dogs, can sink their teeth into at The Britannia, from Happy Hour every weekday from 5-7pm, Wednesday Steak Nights, Sunday roasts with bottomless trimmings, live music and a pub quiz every Sunday, the dog friendly pub in Parkstone is keen to be a hub for the community.

As part of Heartwood Inns - a collection of cosy pubs awarded the best Food-Led Pub Group by Restaurant R200 in 2023 - The Britannia is hoping that Lunch Club will help locals connect, inviting them to share great food, alongside great company.

General Manager at The Britannia, Saffron Mouland, said: ‘We love to support talented local businesses, so pairing Tipsy Canvas with our initiative to bring our thriving community together just made sense! We’re so proud of the creative artistry of our own menus, so we’re really looking forward to seeing people bond over great food, great conversation and a few strokes of magic.’
