We recommend
Owners, Ayshe and Ben are committed to ensuring that every visitor feels like they belong, whether they come alone or in a group. “We get to know all our guests and deliver a personal service every time,” Ayshe explains.
Their dedication to creating a memorable experience shines through in everything they do. “Our southern hospitality, friendly attitude, and personal service leave people feeling welcome and wanting to come back,” she adds.
At the heart of The Honky Tonk Collective is a range of diverse events that cater to a wide audience. From line dancing classes organised by the Funky Sole Line Dance Group, designed for beginners, to live music events, there is always something exciting happening. “Our live music events are all about the party,” Ayshe says. “They are always ticketed and sell out very quickly.”
The venue features a variety of music styles, including outlaw, bluegrass, and rockabilly, with plans to introduce karaoke and open mic nights soon. Each event is a unique celebration, reflecting the fun and inclusive atmosphere of The Honky Tonk Collective.
The Honky Tonk Collective has quickly attracted a diverse clientele, from teenagers to those in their 80s, and is building a strong base of regulars. “We have lots of regulars and new faces all the time,” Ayshe notes. The community’s support has been overwhelming and deeply meaningful to the owners. “We live in the local area, and we are just two normal people,” she says. “I think people like to support a couple following their dreams.”
An American-inspired menu with a local twist
While the events draw the crowds, the bar, cafe, and diner offer an American-inspired menu that is quickly becoming a staple in Poole. With dishes like loaded fries, tater tots, hot dogs, pancakes, and burgers, The Honky Tonk Collective offers comfort food that hits all the right notes. “Our burgers were tested on our regulars free of charge before going on the menu,” Ayshe shares. “We wanted to make sure they were happy with the dishes before they made the menu.”
For a more authentic country experience, customers can enjoy O’Donnell Moonshine, or try one of the creatively themed cocktails inspired by country music artists and songs.
Looking to the future
Looking ahead, Ayshe and Ben have exciting plans for The Honky Tonk Collective. With a secondary unit attached to the building, there are possibilities for expansion, including a broader food menu and even more varied events. “We want to continue getting more artists through the door and become a solid platform for UK country music artists,” Ayshe says.
Despite their busy schedules, the couple remains dedicated to their goal of ensuring every customer leaves with a smile. “Every single thank you is huge to us, and we will never take this for granted,” Ayshe reflects.
For those who have yet to visit, Ayshe encourages everyone to come and experience The Honky Tonk Collective for themselves. “It’s a totally unique experience, something for everyone!” she says. Whether you’re a fan of country music, a lover of American comfort food, or just looking for a warm, welcoming place to spend some time in Poole, The Honky Tonk Collective is a must-visit destination that offers a slice of Americana in Hamworthy, all delivered with a hearty dose of Southern hospitality.
