Formerly a popular spot, the inn has been brought back to life by new owners Dip Sukhadiya, 42, and Priti Sukhadiya, 40, who have extensively renovated the building while adding an ice cream store for the summer months.
Previously occupied by the Enid Blyton-themed 'Ginger Pop Shop,' The Swan Inn now has modern décor while preserving its historical charm with features like a wall of photos showcasing the pub's storied past. The Sukhadiyas have worked diligently to balance the old with the new, ensuring the pub retains its nostalgic appeal.
The reopening plans sparked some controversy due to the pub’s late closing time of 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. However, the owners clarified they have no intention of hosting late-night parties. Live music will be performed at the venue one day a week and a curry night is planned alongside this.
Local residents have warmly welcomed the reopening, many visiting to relive fond memories. Priti shared.
In addition to the pub, Dip and Priti have opened a bubble tea and ice cream store connected to the building, which has quickly become a hit with children.
This beloved and historic pub’s reopening was celebrated with the local community and included a performance by The Dolphin Marching Band.
