Ben Portsmouth brings his jaw-dropping tribute to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, to Bournemouth
Recognised as the world’s finest Elvis performer, Ben Portsmouth brings his worldwide hit show, ‘This is Elvis’ to the Pavilion Theatre on Saturday, 26th April.
With global success in over 20 countries, including sellout performances on the same Vegas stage as Elvis and in London's West End, Elvis fans will be treated to a trip down memory lane with many of the showman’s most-loved songs. The show covers all eras, including the 1950s, the iconic '68 Comeback Special, and Ben's personal favorite—the 1970s Vegas concerts.
Greatest hits such as Can't Help Falling in Love, If I Can Dream, Suspicious Minds, Unchained Melody, and Viva Las Vegas will all be part of the repertoire.
In 2012, Ben broke records by becoming the first European to be crowned the Worldwide Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist by Elvis Presley Enterprises in Memphis. This achievement was swiftly followed by an invitation to headline a special Elvis Week on The Late Show with David Letterman. The talk-show host was left lost for words after Ben’s rendition of An American Trilogy—flanked by a full orchestra. Ben recalls performing on the show as “a very special occasion, one of the highlights of my career so far.”
At the root of Ben’s exceptional touring career is a deep love and respect for the King’s music. He considers it a privilege to perform so many world-renowned songs for fellow Elvis fans.
Portsmouth says, “It’s fantastic to see such diverse age groups attending the shows. It proves what we already know – and that is just how much of a legend ‘The King’ was. His music continues to touch hearts for many reasons.”
With Ben’s extraordinary resemblance, charm, and charisma, he continues to amaze audiences with his stage presence. Fans worldwide claim, "This is the closest you will ever get to Elvis!"
It is a love for his profession that keeps the flame burning. “At the end of the day, the greatest part is being on stage, feeling that you’ve given your best performance and making people happy,” Portsmouth explains. “If you walk off stage and think, yeah, we’ve all had a good time, I’ve done my job.”
Ben and the Taking Care of Elvis Band have previously welcomed packed audiences to Bournemouth Pavilion. Reflecting on past performances, Ben comments, “We always enjoy this venue. The audiences are always so interactive – we’re really looking forward to returning.”
Now it’s your chance to see them again on Friday, 26th April – it promises to be a spectacular night! But you’ll need to be quick—tickets are selling fast!
