Bournemouth One expands digital coverage across the South via Freeview Play

Bournemouth One, the local radio station serving Bournemouth and surrounding areas, is now accessible on Freeview Play channel 277.

This expansion allows listeners with compatible Freeview Play or Freely smart TVs to tune in directly via their television sets in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, along with parts of Wiltshire and West Sussex.

Launched on New Year's Day 2024, Bournemouth One has steadily grown its audience to 25,000 last quarter, initially through online streaming and later via DAB Digital Radio across Dorset.

The station offers a clutter-free, DJ-free mix of music, local news updates every 20 minutes, travel reports, and community information.

The UK Radio Portal aggregates various radio stations, making them available on Freeview channel 277, Freely channel 566, and Amazon Fire TV Sticks. This service utilizes Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (HbbTV) technology to deliver internet-streamed radio content through the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) network.
