Jamie Lee Dance Academy celebrates 10-year anniversary with new show Decade

Jamie Lee Dance Academy (JLDA Live) returns to Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Sunday 16 March 2025, marking ten years of performing excellence with the aptly named Decade.

Over 200 performers, aged between 3 and 18, will be taking to the stage, dancing and singing their way through numbers from 42nd Street to Mamma Mia and Swan Lake.

They will be backed by a live 13-piece West End orchestra with musical scores specially written and tailored for the occasion.    

Starting out with two pupils in a local community facility, Jamie Lee Dance Academy now operates from two specifically designed dance studios at their premises in Kinson.

The school now boosts a fully qualified teaching faculty of 10 and over 40 classes each week, including ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre and much more. 

High standards of teaching and performance are evidenced by consistently high exam results and the consistent regional (and national) competition successes for their competition team.

The success of the school is also marked by the impressive alumni (working across the world) and the 100% success rate of students who audition for college at degree level.    

The school is proud to support local charity Sophies Legacy, whether thats sponsoring pizza nights, taking food supplies in for those most in need or simply raising much needed funds for childhood cancer research.  Our production in 2023 raised just over 1,400 for the charity.

Principal, Jamie Lee Tuffrey reflects, "The last 10 years couldnt have been more rewarding;  I know that not every child I teach will want to perform professionally, but I can honestly say that every child I have taught stands a little taller and speaks a little clearer.  And for those that do have a dream, Ill be with them every step of the way to see them achieve it."

The show is set to be held at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Sunday 16 March 2025, with two performances at 2pm and 6:30pm.
