Jurassic Coast Sauna Hut Approved for Swanage Seafront

A new seaside sauna hut is set to be an addition to the popular tourist destination of Swanage. Dorset Council has approved plans for the timber-clad structure, which will be situated on Shore Road.

The 17-square-meter (55-square-foot) building will be constructed on a hardstanding and will join other similar saunas recently established along the Jurassic Coast, including those at Seatown and Studland. The application was submitted by Swanage Bay Sauna, a Wareham-based company that also operates a hut at Knoll Beach in Studland.

Located on land owned by Swanage Town Council, the sauna will be open from 07:00 am to 7:00 pm, daily. The facility includes three rooms: a large communal sauna, a smaller private sauna, and an office/reception area.

The building will be painted black and feature grey glazed windows that allow views out while maintaining privacy inside.
