New Christmas market coming to Poole this festive season

The Dolphin Poole is launching a brand-new Christmas market this year, bringing festive cheer to Poole!

Starting Wednesday, November 13, visitors can explore a variety of handmade and locally produced gifts, sweet treats, and more.

This new indoor market, known as the Kingland Christmas Market, will be set up inside the former Millets store at 22 Kingland Crescent, Poole. It offers a fantastic opportunity for small businesses in the BCP area to showcase festive products and reach a wider audience.

The market will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free. It will run until December 23, giving plenty of time to find unique christmas gifts.

John Grinnell, Centre Manager at The Dolphin, shared his excitement: “We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to this year’s Kingland Christmas Market. We hope the market will enhance the experience of shoppers who are seeking out unique, handmade gifts for friends and family.”

“The Dolphin is passionate about supporting local makers and creatives, so it’s very fitting that the new Christmas market will reside in KINGLAND,” he added.

The Kingland area was initially created in 2021 by Legal & General (LGIM), which offered two years of free rent and business rates to ten carefully selected independent retailers. This helped establish KINGLAND as a hub for Poole’s finest local brands.

Alongside this, The Dolphin also supports emerging small businesses looking for their first shopfront. Kingland Christmas Market complements The Dolphin Street Market, which features eight market stalls available for booking throughout the year.

Carmen Davies, Community Manager at The Dolphin, noted the high demand this season, saying, “We’ve received unprecedented demand for street market stalls during November and December this year, so it made sense for us to create more opportunities for small businesses during this time. In Poole, we’re incredibly fortunate to have lots of talented artists and makers on our doorstep, and it’s a great privilege to be able to support them.”

Interested in sharing your locally produced product with the community? Kingland Christmas Market stalls are now available to book, starting at just £120 + VAT per week.
