Ricky Gervais Set to Perform Fresh Comedy at Regent Centre, Christchurch

Renowned comedian, writer and actor Ricky Gervais is gearing up to showcase new material at a historic 500-seat art deco theatre in Christchurch, Dorset next week.

Gervais, popular for his iconic TV series The Office, will take to the stage of Christchurch's Regent Centre on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th May. His work-in-progress show is titled "Ricky Gervais and Friends," and features a collaboration of performances with fellow comedians.

Tickets for the event, which went on sale at 10:00 BST today, Friday, May 10th, 2024, are expected to be in high demand. The Regent Centre, a beloved establishment located on Christchurch's High Street, has been established since the 1930s and operates as a non-profit venue.

In addition to his performances in Dorset, Gervais will also debut material at London's Leicester Square Theatre and Hertfordshire’s Watford Palace Theatre.

Gervais has garnered worldwide acclaim for his work in productions such as Extras, Derek, and After Life. His 2023 stand-up show, Armageddon, earned him a Golden Globe, while his performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles secured a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest-grossing comedy gig in history.
