Snowtrax Alpine Activity Centre Unveils Exciting New Features for Ringo Activity

Snowtrax Alpine Activity Centre, nestled on Matchams Lane near Hurn, has elevated its offerings to a whole new level with a remarkable quarter-million-pound investment in its facilities. This means that they will be offering thrilling experiences for visitors of all ages. However, the crown jewel of this transformation is the exhilarating upgrades to its popular Ringo activity.

The centre has taken Ringos to a whole new dimension, thanks to a groundbreaking addition that's nowhere else to be found in the UK: a state-of-the-art lift designed to whisk children and enthusiasts back up the slope with their inflatable rings. This remarkable innovation was born from a strong demand for Ringos, both for spontaneous visits and memorable birthday parties.

Adam Halstead, the managing director at Snowtrax, expressed his motivation behind this exciting development: "We saw that need and we created the two Ringo lanes. The other comment from customers was the fact of having to walk up, so we got this moving carpet, the travellator, installed. It was quite a big install, it's a different type of lift, there wasn't one that existed like that in the UK. We found a UK company to help us install that, which was quite a feat in the end, but we got there."

This innovative lift was designed by a company that traditionally manufactures conveyor belts for warehouses. Snowtrax collaborated with them to adapt the technology for transporting people and their rings, turning an industrial solution into a unique recreational experience.

But the businesses upgrades don't stop there. In 2018 Snowtrax acquired Proslope, an award-winning outdoor ski surface company renowned for its "dry" ski slope matting, which it supplies worldwide, including recent installations in Scotland and Ireland. Plans are underway to resurface parts of Snowtrax's main ski slopes with this cutting-edge matting, promising an even better skiing experience than ever before.

Adam Halstead explained the positive impact of this matting: "Essentially, the matting has increased the number of people wanting to ski and snowboard. It's a lot safer to ski on, and when falls happen, they're not injuring themselves as much; we've seen injury rates decrease quite significantly. Participation has increased, there's a good demand there for people wanting to learn."

Beyond the enhancements on the slopes, Snowtrax has revamped its bar and restaurant named the “Alpine Pub”. The centre is also keen on building a sense of community, with plans to host ski and snowboard events and the return of their “Live Music Saturday’s”. According to Adam, the objective is not only to create a vibrant leisure facility but also to provide valuable job opportunities for the local community.

"I think, especially with all the facilities that we have, it's a broad range of customers, from young families to teenagers, all the way up to people who might be retired with a bit more leisure time to come and ski and board during the day," Adam said. "That's our big impact on the local community, to be able to provide that broad range of activities."

The Snowtrax Alpine Activity Centre's recent investments are set to make it a must-visit destination, with an array of exciting features that will thrill both seasoned snow enthusiasts and newcomers alike. The unique Ringo lift and upgraded slopes, coupled with its commitment to community engagement, ensure Snowtrax remains a top choice for days out, outdoor adventure and fun.
