Following last year’s success, the popular, tranquil nature reserve will team up with OT Technicians again to recreate ILLUMINATE, its stunning water-side light trail set to music. Highlighting over 1km of the beautiful nature reserve and ancient woodland, this year’s event will be bigger and better, with additional woodland trails included.
The 30-foot-deep waters of The Blue Pool have long been a source of local admiration for their vibrant colour (something to do with clay and light refraction) and, since 1935, the 150-acre Site of Special Scientific Interest has protected the wealth of wildlife there, including owls, Sika deer, badgers and Green Sand Lizards – one of Britain’s rarest and most endangered reptiles.
Refreshments will be available in the pretty, licensed tearooms and the all-important marshmallow toasting will take place in fire pits on the terrace.
ILLUMINATE will run from January to March.
