REVIEW: A Fun-Filled First Skiing Experience at Snowtrax Christchurch

As parents preparing for our first skiing holiday as a family this February, we wanted to introduce our 7- and 4-year-old daughters to the slopes in a fun and safe environment.

As we live in Poole we booked lessons at Snowtrax in Christchurch as it's only half an hour from us and it was the perfect way to give them a feel of what to expect. We couldn't believe that they were skiing by the end of the 45 minute session; it definitely delivered an exceptional first skiing experience that exceeded all expectations!

The instructor was fantastic, making the session engaging and stress-free for our young beginners. Both children were skiing down the nursery slope un-assistant within 10 minutes and very quickly picked up the basics. It was perfect practice with getting a feel for the equipment, skiing and becoming familiar with the lifts. Their excitement for our February trip is now through the roof - mission accomplished!

The kids were starving after their session so we headed to the Alpine Pub for lunch which was fantastic - it felt like a mini break in the Alps with all the decor and festive food - they even had Tartiflette on the menu! You can have everything from hot drinks and cakes to more hearty meals. I had the Christmas burger which was incredible and the kids devoured their nuggets and chips.

Snowtrax offers much more than just lessons and you can easily spend an action packed day there. The dry ski slope caters to recreational skiers of all abilities, while other activities like the Ringos (ages 5+), woth two new improved lanes, promise thrills for all ages. The kids were desperate to go to the Alpine Adventure Park which sadly we didn't have time for but it's another reason to return. There's zip wires, forts, trampolines, and even a pirate ship for children to explore, making it a full day out.

Pricing is family-friendly, with Ringo sessions starting at £12, and access to the adventure park available for just £4.95 per child. Adults can also join the fun for a minimal fee.

Whether you're preparing for a ski trip like us or just want an active family day out, Snowtrax offers a unique mix of fun, learning, and adventure. Definitely one to add to your must visit list!
