REVIEW: The Project Climbing Centre

We were so happy to hear about the new kids climbing area at The Project Climbing Centre in Poole. Even just a few months ago we took our 5 year old for a climb with us which was great for her, but not ideal for my husband and I as we had to tag-team looking after our 2 year old and trying to keep her away from the walls!

Until now, there was nothing for the toddlers and smaller kids to do, so this news has been very well received by our family and I'm sure many others in a similar position.

The Project has recently launched a brand new kids' area that is sure to provide an engaging and unique experience for your young children.

We went along as a family to check it out…

The quality and attention to detail that has gone into creating this space is really impressive. From colourful and interactive climbing walls to innovative safety features, this kids' area will make newcomers feel at ease and safe, our 5-year-old loved the new area too and enjoyed spending half the time getting warmed up and ready for the bigger walls downstairs.

Overview of the new kids' area

The area features a range of climbing walls that have been specifically designed for kids, with bright colours and fun shapes - and even a slide, all of which will capture their attention. The walls are also equipped with a variety of climbing holds that cater to different skill levels, so children of all ages and abilities can enjoy the experience.

Safety measures

At The Project Climbing Centre, safety is a top priority. The new kids' area has been designed with safety in mind, with a range of measures in place to ensure that children can climb and play safely.

The climbing walls in the kids' area have thick padding, providing an extra layer of protection in the event of a fall.

In addition to these safety features, The Project Climbing Centre also requires all climbers to wear climbing shoes - the tiny climbing shoes for our 2 yr old were absolutely adorable!

Even in the new kids' area, children must be supervised by an adult with previous experience in climbing. There are adult inductions available for those that have no previous experience in climbing.

A supervising adult can supervise 2 children at a time. Project Kids is suitable for toddlers upwards. Our youngest daughter is 2.5 yrs and eldest is 5 - both got a lot of enjoyment out of it, so I'd say from 2/3 upwards you'd have the best experience.

Pricing and packages

If none of you have your own climbing shoes it can get quite pricey;

  • £12 per Adult
  • £6 for Under 18s
  • £3 Shoe Hire

Conclusion

In conclusion, the new kids' area at The Project Climbing Centre is a must-visit for families looking for a fun and engaging way to keep their kids active and entertained. The new kids area now makes it appealing to families of all ages and it's something that we can all get involved in.

Being within The Dolphin Centre with all the other cafes, amenities and on-site parking, it's a perfect way to spend a rainy day!

So if you're looking for a new and exciting way to keep your kids active and engaged, head on over to The Project Climbing Centre and check out their amazing new kids' area for yourself!
