Bournemouth Airport is rolling out a comprehensive multi-million-pound redevelopment, which includes the introduction of SSP Group, Jet2holidays and Jet2.com, bringing new eating & drinking options and destinations to passengers this year. SSP now manages the airport’s existing eateries, which includes a bar restaurant and café bar.
The managing director of Bournemouth Airport, Steve Gill, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership by saying that the partnership with SSP aligns with the airport’s efforts to match passenger increases with convenient service.
From 2025 – 2026, SSP is planning to make significant investments to upgrade their dining services. Upgrades consist of making their grab-and-go section larger and launching a modern bar and kitchen concept. The goal of these developments is to have a wider selection of food and drink choices at better value for customers.
Kari Daniels, CEO of SSP UK & Ireland, stated that this partnership marks SSP’s first expansion into a new UK airport in many years, emphasising the company’s strategic growth plans with a commitment to improve customers’ travel experiences.
Bournemouth Airport welcomed over 1 million travellers last year and is set to continue expanding with 16 additional routes launching this summer, with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays. The airport is investing £60 million in upgraded amenities to meet growing demand, with a better dining experience being a key part of these improvements.
As Bournemouth Airport continues to progress, the upgraded food and beverage options are promised to result in a more enjoyable travel experience through increasing customer satisfaction.
