Cycling Routes
Poole boasts over 50 miles of cycle network/routes, 28 miles of these are traffic free paths amongst Poole's green spaces and beach promenades.
The various routes cater for all abilities and types of cyclist. Take route 25 for a ride taking you from Poole Town Centre to Upton Country Park, Wimborne and Bournemouth Town Centre using the National Cycle Network. If you fancy riding along the Poole to Bournemouth promenade, take Route 2. These are great routes to see some of the highlights of Poole and the surrounding areas. Be aware of the promenade cycle restrictions during the peak summer months.

Bike Shops and Repairs
With Poole being such a hub for cycling, you'll find plenty of great bike cycling shops and bike repairs and servicing spots here. Rockets and Rascals is your one-stop-shop for all things cycling in Poole; they even provide a custom bike build service and have a fantastic on-site cafe which is really popular with cyclings from Dorset and much further afield too!

Rockets and Rascals (as above) - hugely popular Bike Shop, Repair Centre, Cafe and Cycling Group (the Rockets and Rascals group ride goes every Saturday at 8am for a pre-ride coffee and roll out at 0830. It's a 'no-drop' social ride, usually a 2 hour loop of Poole harbour averaging around 17mph and ending with a short trip on the chain ferry back to Rockets Cafe for a coffee & cake.

Primera Sports is a family owned specialist cycling shop that caters for all disciplines of cycling. You'll find bikes, equipment, accessories and clothing from leading brands. They stock road bikes from some premium brands including Pinarello, Kuota and Bianchi. For bike servicing and repairs, they have a comprehensive workshop with 2 full-time mechanics who are both trained to the highest standards.
They also stock electric bikes including Bosch, Shimano Steps, Brose and Yamaha. Software updates and servicing are run on all E-Bikes.

Cycle Paths is a well stocked bike shop in Poole Town Cente, within The Dolphin Centre. They sell mountain, road, e-bikes, kids bikes, hyrbides, accessories and have an on-site workshop for servicing and repairs.

Being a member of a cycling club in Poole has so many benefits. Not only will your cycling knowledge, strength and confidence grow, but you'll meet like-minded people and will experience many different routes that you may not already have been aware of.
Here's some of the top cycling clubs and groups in Poole:
Poole Wheelers Cycling Club was established in 1926! They aim to promote cycling and cycle racing in all forms, support and develop young riders, provide a welcoming, family-friendly club environment so all members can enjoy cycling. Thery run group rides throughout the week - always with a coffee and cake at the end of each ride and frequenty have social get-togethers off the bike too! Dorset Rough Riders is an off-road mountain biking club. They offer rides starting from many locations throughout Poole and the surrounding areas. Fresh Start Cycling is a group that was created to encourage more people to cycle and to replace car journeys with bike rides. All are welcome to all of their activities and they include; casual touring, cafe socials, training exercises for improvement, evening socials, bike maintenance, exploring local areas. Most activities are based in and around the Poole and Bournemouth area, with the occasional visit to other parts of dorset.
The Bouremouth Velodrome attracts locals and cycling enthusiasts from far and wide! It's a great public facility, which was opened in 2011, is managed by Active Dorset in partnership with BCP Council, British Cycling and the local cycling clubs.
