REVIEW: Parkstone Chiropractic Movement Therapy

I'm pretty unlucky in that I've been dealt a few auto-immune conditions including Ankylosing Spondylitis and Crohn's Colitis, but I'm lucky in that I've been relatively in control of my conditions, and have learned to manage both without medication thanks to a focus on daily exercise and movement and good nutrition.

I purchased a new Smart Turbo Trainer last year and started 'Zwifting' and things stated to go a bit wrong and I've been in a flare for over 6 months. I'm awaiting an MRI scan but was also diagnosed with 'Jumpers Knee' so I decided to get on top of the situation by seeking the help of highly recommended Parkstone Chiropractic.

I did think that the fact that I haven't had the MRI, would be an issue, but the fantastic thing with Jason who specialises in Movement Therapy and Sports Massage, is that he didn't need a scan to show him what could be done to help me - he could tell just by looking at my feet!

After just one 90 minute session I feel back in control!

Movement Therapy and Sports Massage Service

I had a combination of rehab and massage therapy.

The session started by me answering some questions and completing a questionnaire and then it was time to get my feet out to do some functional exercises on a special mat which was where Jason could see where I was struggling and therefore prescribe me with some functional exercises to continue with at home to help with my strength and range of motion to help me to continue to be able to do the running and cycling I dearly love and enjoy.

It was a real eye opener and some simple tweaks make the world of difference. No MRI scan or hospital appointment would help with a solution - with just one session with Jason, I feel like I have much better knowledge of my condition and how I can help myself. Jason took the time to give me some really great information from breathing techniques to functional training, specific stretching techniques that work for runners and cyclists. Jason was very generous with his time and knowledge.

The session was finished off with a deep sports massage on my feet and hip flexors and I enjoyed a very 'springy' run the day after and I'm looking forward to putting everything I have learned into practice.
