The bridge, which has been out of service since mid-May due to a fault discovered during an inspection, resumed operations last Friday, 9th August.
On Friday, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council initially stated that no reopening date had been confirmed for the bridge. However, they later announced that testing had been successful, and the bridge would be reopened to traffic. Following the completion of the repair works, over 20 test lifts were conducted on Friday, and the bridge is currently being monitored.
Originally opened in 2012, the bridge was constructed at a cost of £37 million.
