REVIEW: Swaffield's Barbers & Hairdressers Salon
Nestled in the heart of Upton, Swaffield’s Barbers and Salon is truly a hidden gem.
Owners Paul and Nicola’s third premises, alongside one in Lilliput, and their original establishment in Wimborne...Upton is the largest venture yet. In the (just over) six months since it opened, it has gone from strength to strength, boasting a rapidly growing client base, and offering not only barbering and hairdressing, but a wide (and ever growing) range of beauty treatments.
Walking in through the door, the stunning interior marries vintage charm and modern chic in perfect unison. A spacious and inviting main salon offers barbering and hairdressing both via appointment and for walk-in, with late night appointments available on a Thursday until 8pm.
Two treatment rooms to the rear offer a wide variety of beauty and holistic therapies, from waxing to massage, facials, reflexology, Hopi ear candles, Indian head massage, Reiki, manicures and pedicures, eyelash tints, lifts and extensions, and even ear piercing. A one stop shop for all your beauty needs!
I was lucky enough to be invited along to experience one of Swaffield’s treatments…a tough job, but hey, someone has to do it!
As a mum of three (including a 1 year old) my beauty regime has somewhat taken a backseat and I’m lucky if I find the time to wash my face in the evening, let alone take the time to give my skin the love and kindness it not only needs… but definitely deserves… so I opted for one of Swaffield’s express facials, perfect for on-the-go ladies who need to squeeze some pamper time into their already hectic schedules.
Tucked under a warm blanket, my treatment took about 30-40 mins but honestly, I could have stayed there all day I was so relaxed! The MonuSkin products not only smelt divine, but felt absolutely incredible on my skin. A blissful face, neck and shoulder massage alleviated every bit of tension and really worked out all those little knots, yet was utterly relaxing at the same time.
One of the best facials I’ve had to date, I left Swaffield’s feeling refreshed and renewed and super relaxed, which, for a Tuesday morning, is utterly unheard of! I will most definitely be back for more treatments in the future, and have already recommended Swaffield’s to my partner, and to a friend looking for a gift idea for her mum as it's absolutely ideal if you’re looking to treat someone you love to some pamper time.
While a hairdressers is not generally the first place you would look to for beauty treatments, with their fantastic existing range, and plenty more to come, Swaffield’s is definitely one to keep in mind!
