New owner NJG submitting their planning statement last year where they unveiled plans to transform the current building into five-star luxury accommodation which ‘will become a distinctive and luxury lifestyle destination in Bournemouth.’
The company plans to invest around £20million into the Savoy with their planned portfolio proposing a ‘comprehensive package of refurbishment, extension and new-build works’, featuring re-modelled bedrooms, spa, fitness and wellness centre, rooftop restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, and a garden restaurant along with other facilities.
Plans will also see part of the current building be demolished and the former stable block renovated into eight high-end cottage suites.
The application will go before BCP Council's planning committee on August 18, with a recommendation for approval.
