Sherborne Voted Top Place to Live in Dorset

In a recent announcement by The Sunday Times, Sherborne has claimed the prestigious title of the best place to live in the South West for the year 2024.

This follows Sherborne being awarded best place to live in Dorset, last year by Muddy Stilhettos - women's lifestyle platform. Sherborne, a picturesque market town nestled in north-west Dorset, secured the coveted spot for its blend of medieval and Georgian charm, vibrant independent shops, cafes, and restaurants, alongside esteemed educational institutions, a striking abbey, and not one, but two castles.

A group of judges have announced the top ten places to reside in the South West, with two locations in Dorset making the list - and Sherborne securing the coveted position as the premier place to live in the area. The judges conducted visits across various regions, evaluating criteria ranging from educational facilities and transportation to broadband connectivity, cultural offerings, access to nature areas, and the vitality of local commerce.

Taff Martin, President of the Sherborne Chamber of Trade and Commerce, expressed delight upon learning that Sherborne had clinched the top rank, describing himself as thrilled by the news.

With Sherborne leading the pack, the southwest region has unique blend of history, natural beauty, and community spirit. As The Sunday Times have placed this esteemed title, the spotlight remains firmly on Sherborne and its fellow Dorset contenders, showcasing the enduring appeal of England's southwest gem.
