REVIEW: Audi Q8 E-Tron

I absolutely love my Volvo XC60 (hybid). I'm in year 3 of my 4 year lease and until now, I was 99.9% sure I would be in Volvo's for the rest of my working life, but after having test driven the Audi Q8 E-tron for the weekend I am now thinking otherwise!

As well as looking and feeling super slick externally and internally, my accountant is very up for the switch from my current hybrid to full electric so there are financial and environment benefits too.

The Audi Q8 e-tron is a groundbreaking vehicle that combines luxury and sustainability in a way that has never been seen before.

As the world continues to move towards a greener future, the motor industry is quickly developing electric vehicles that not only offer zero emissions, but also deliver the same level of luxury and performance that consumers have come to expect.

I wasn't convinced the fully electric Audi would offer enough in terms of mileage, power and luxury but it delivered on almost every level (only lacking on only a small minus point which I'll go in to).

Design and Features of the Audi Q8 e-tron

The design of the Audi Q8 e-tron is a perfect blend of elegance and sportiness. It features a sleek and aerodynamic body, with sharp lines and a dynamic stance that exude confidence and sophistication. The front grille is dominated by Audi's signature Singleframe design, which gives the vehicle a bold and distinctive look. The LED headlights and taillights complete the futuristic aesthetic, while also providing excellent visibility on the road.

Inside the cabin, the Audi Q8 e-tron offers a luxurious and comfortable experience for the driver and front passengers, however, my only negative is the rear feels a lot smaller than the Volvo XC60 and my 3 year old looked quote squished in her isofix car seat. However, once she has grown out of the Isofix there will be plenty of room.

The boot is a great size which with two kids and with our sporting hobbies this is a must. The seats are upholstered in high-quality leather and offer ample support and cushioning. The dashboard is sleek and modern, with a user-friendly interface with voice recognition controls (really useful and safe for entering postcodes for the sat nav.

The Q8 e-tron also comes with a host of advanced features, such as a panoramic sunroof, a premium sound system, and a suite of driver-assistance technologies.

Performance and Driving Experience

I was nervous about test driving this beautiful car and damaging it, but it is so easy to drive and there are cameras everywhere so even parralel parking on a busy street with noisy kids in the car was a breeze! (although I was too nervous to test out Audi's advanced parking assist system, which takes the stress out of parallel parking by automatically steering the vehicle into a parking space - maybe next time!)

When it comes to performance, the Audi Q8 e-tron does not disappoint. Powered by a state-of-the-art electric drivetrain, the Q8 e-tron delivers instant acceleration and impressive torque, making it a joy to drive and super responsive.

The electric motors provide a smooth and silent driving experience, while also delivering ample power when you need it (pulling on to the dual carriageway was fun and super rapid getting up to top speed!). In terms of range, the Audi Q8 e-tron boasts an impressive battery capacity that allows for long-distance driving without the need for frequent charging. We had the car all weekend and used it for the kids weekend classes and 3 birthday parties and a trip out to Lulworth and back from Poole and we didn't need to charge it once.

With its efficient regenerative braking system, the Q8 e-tron is able to recover energy during deceleration, further enhancing its range. Comparing the Audi Q8 e-tron to the Volvo XC-60 and other electric luxury vehicles When comparing the Audi Q8 e-tron to my Hybid Volve, it is clear that Audi has set a new standard for sustainable luxury.

The Q8 e-tron offers a perfect balance of luxury, performance, and sustainability, which is not always easy to find in fully electric vehicles.
