TECH SPECIALISTS FILESTREAM MOVE INTO THEIR NEW BERKSHIRE OFFICE
Document management specialist Filestream has moved its operations down the road in Berkshire, having bought their own premises.
The team of nine have moved to Wellington Business Park in Crowthorne in a move which has taken many months to complete – as the brand has bought its own premises.
Co-founder Charles Hooker said: “We are pleased to be in a space that we own as a company. It’s an investment in our growth. We now have the advantage of owning our own premises which means we can expand, the location is very quiet and easily accessible for our team and for our clients if they need to visit us.”
The office has an independent entrance and has space across two floors given the team room to expand. It also means Filestream are now very close to their data partners in business Sire Technology Ltd, based on the same business estate.
Finance director Jolyon Wilkinson says the move makes financial sense:
“This office will pay for itself in just three years when you consider the cost of leasing an office, something we have done for many years. We are now in charge of our own overheads and we have control and are not at the mercy of wavering rent costs. Although it’s taken time to sort out this move, we’re pleased it’s now our new home.”
The move comes as Filestream, which specialises in secure, encrypted document management software, launches its FS Cloud offering for small businesses. Many of Filestream’s customers are larger businesses with multiple sites and teams who are on the road – companies such as P&O Cruises, Scania and BNP Paribas.
Paul Day, Filestream’s technical director, said:
“Our FS Cloud is the same software to keep documents safe and secure in the Cloud, yet it supports micro businesses and small businesses – which still need to be GDPR compliant with their data. Using this service five users can access the system concurrently for just £210 plus VAT a month.
“At a time when it’s estimated that there is a cyber attack every 39 seconds our software is complaint, safe and works alongside software systems used widely such as Google Docs and SharePoint.
“We often work with HR managers and directors who can often find they are drowning in paperwork, even online, and they are constantly worried about data breaches and cyber attacks.”
The software was originally created in 2003 when founder Charles Hooker saw the future in the digital space and moved away from his original business of selling hardware such as photocopiers. Paul, who had joined the business as a van driver, supported the move and since that time, the team have gone on to develop their system and now work with globally known brands and individuals.
