FLOG IT! PRESENTER PAUL MARTIN TO HOST VALUATION DAY IN LUDGERSHALL
Well known popular TV antique expert, Paul Martin, will be sharing his knowledge and experience with Wiltshire residents on Tuesday 9th July by hosting a free community valuation day at Dolly’s Vintage Tea Room in Ludgershall.
The valuation day, which is being run in partnership with world renowned Devizes auctioneers Henry Aldridge & Son, for which Paul is Head of Valuations, will take place between 10am – 3pm and is intended to encourage members of the public to dust off those items they’ve always been curious about and bring them along to be discussed, valued and perhaps sold.
Paul would be delighted to see items ranging from antiques, collectables, silver, gold, militaria and jewellery.
The day is part of a programme of valuation days being run Paul in his role with Henry Aldridge & Son and Paul says he is excited to see what the people of Ludgershall will bring along.
“Hosting events like these in Wiltshire is truly wonderful,” Paul shared. “This region is rich in history, and its residents are exceptionally generous with their time and curiosity. I am certain we will come across some fascinating items and gain valuable insights from the stories behind them.”
Ludgershall, located at the eastern edge of Salisbury Plain and bordering Hampshire, is a village rich in history. It is the site of Ludgershall Castle and a medieval borough.
Susan McShane, owner of Dolly’s Vintage Tea Room, which opened nearly two years ago, expressed her excitement: “We’re very excited to be hosting Paul Martin and his valuation day. We’ve not hosted something like this before, and I haven’t had the chance to meet Paul. Both myself and our customers are very excited to meet him.”
"Given the depth of the local history, we're always anticipating the unexpected," Paul said. "Wiltshire is home to families with roots tracing back generations, so it wouldn't be surprising to encounter heirlooms linked to the area's rich heritage. The beauty of community valuation days lies in their unpredictability; they're brimming with surprises waiting to be uncovered.”
“Even though I am a tv presenter and still enjoy my broadcast career, I’m an antiques man at heart and these events allow me to get back to what drives me — the people, their objects and the stories they tell.”
Paul, who presented the BBC show, Flog It! is also known for TV shows such as Antiques Road Trip and Britain’s Hidden Heritage, and Paul Martin’s Auction Showdown.
