FLOG IT! PRESENTER PAUL MARTIN TO HOST VALUATION DAY IN SOUTHAMPTON

Popular TV antiques expert Paul Martin will be sharing his knowledge and experience with residents of Southampton on Monday 7th October, by hosting a free community valuation day at The Ship Inn in Southampton.

The valuation day, which is being run in partnership with world renowned Devizes auctioneers Henry Aldridge & Son, for which Paul is Head of Valuations, will take place between 10:30am – 3pm and is intended to encourage members of the public to dust off those items they’ve always been curious about and bring them along to be discussed, valued and perhaps sold.

Paul would be delighted to see items ranging from antiques, collectables, silver, gold, militaria and jewellery.

The Ship Inn, a well-known landmark in Southampton, is an ideal venue for this event. With its roots dating back to the 17th century, this historic pub has been a gathering place for seafarers and locals alike, embodying the spirit of the city’s rich maritime history. Today, it continues to serve the community, offering a welcoming atmosphere steeped in tradition.

The valuation day gives locals a wonderful opportunity to have their items appraised by an expert and to gain insights into both their historical and monetary value.

“Whether it’s a family heirloom or a curious find, I’m eager to explore the stories behind each item,” said Paul.

“Even though I am a tv presenter and still enjoy my broadcast career, I’m an antiques man at heart and these events allow me to get back to what drives me — the people, their objects and the stories they tell.”

Paul, who presented the BBC show, Flog It! is also known for TV shows such as Antiques Road Trip and Britain’s Hidden Heritage, and has a new programme, Paul Martin’s Auction Showdown, showing on My5.
