Poole Museum
Poole Museum is made up of four connected buildings that tell you the history behind Poole.
Giving you the chance to explore the interesting history of the lives of people who lived in Poole thousands of years ago. It's an adventurous and educational day out that you're bound to love.
Please check the opening times before attending, but note that the herb and physic garden is open throughout the summer and Scaplen’s Court can be visited during August.
The Poole Museum entrance is at the new atrium which was designed by Horden Cherry Lee in 2007. The next building is Oakley’s Mill, a Victorian grain warehouse and flour mill. A medieval Ship Inn was situated here, so you can see a set of carved timbers. Town Cellars is the third building situated in the Poole Museum and was built in the 1300. Fourth building lies across from Salisbury Street and is known as Scaplen’s Court.
Poole Museum offers an array of educational talks and tours which allow you to understand the hisory behind everything you see. Find out more here.
Souvneirs are available from the Poole Museum Shop, you can purchase an array of products that relate to the history of Poole.
The Poole Cafe and Terrace is situated on the third floor of the museum and serves an array of lite bites, snacks, hot and cold beverages and sweet treats.
