Meet our latest TGt Meets...Sarah Jane, owner and founder of Sarah Jane Bridal Boutique in Poole. We asked her all about where she got her inspiration from creating the exclusive bridal boutique and the advice she'd give to all you brides to be.

Tell us a little bit about yourself…

My name is Sarah Pardey I’m the owner and founder of Sarah Jane Bridal Boutique in Poole.

What inspired you to open your own bridal store?

Covid played a big part in my career change as I think like a lot of us, we realised just how precious life is and we should make the most of every opportunity that comes our way and chase your dreams.

I had my own business previously styling bride’s hair and makeup and loved working with brides and their families creating their perfect look. I am a little obsessed with all things bridal and when I was offered the chance to take over Sassy Brides that had been a thriving bridal boutique previously for 16 years, I grabbed it with both hands.  

What 3 things do you love most about working at Sarah Jane Bridal?

I just love opening the door every day to the beautiful space that we have created and being surrounded by the most gorgeous dresses. I feel so honoured to be a part of such a special time for our brides and I just want to make their experience one that they deserve and remember, but the most fulfilling time is when a bride is in her dream dress, and she knows it’s ‘The One’.

Describe Sarah Jane Bridal in 3 words?

Friendly, relaxed, and personable

If there was one piece of advice, you’d give a bride to be, what would it be?

Just choose up to 3 bridal boutiques to visit as any more you can get super confused and enjoy every moment.

What makes your bridal store stand out against all the other Dorset wedding dress shops?

At Sarah Jane Bridal we want our brides to enjoy their wedding dress shopping experience, so we take time to listen to their thoughts and ideas, look through their mood boards and discuss the venue and theme of the day. We believe with this understanding along with our carefully selected gowns we will help them find the perfect dress. We have exclusivity to designers such as Sophia Tolli, Ellis Bridals, Allure Romance, Romantica of Devon and Purple Fox Bridal.

Why do you work with those particular designers?

We work with well established designers that will only ever deliver the upmost service and quality handsewn wedding dresses from around the world. Many of our designers can offer customise changes to the brides’ requirements to create the dress of her dreams.  

What do you think about/look for when deciding on what dresses appear in your store?

When I am looking for the new collection for the boutique, I take a lot of time and consideration over every single one. I only ever choose a dress that stands out to me for her elegance and sheer beauty. I also consider stocking a variation of styles and materials to suit all shapes and personalities.
