The challenging walk, aptly named the Mighty Hike, will take place in England's first natural World Heritage site, the breathtaking Jurassic Coast. With popular sights such as Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, the stunning route promises not only physical challenges but also moments of awe and inspiration.
For those familiar with the Jurassic Coast, it is well-known for its hilly terrain, making this undertaking no small feat. However, Emma has dedicated herself to months of rigorous training, preparing both physically and mentally for the big day in September. Her unwavering determination and positive attitude reflect her commitment to the cause.
Cancer has touched the lives of countless individuals, including Emma, who has witnessed the immense difficulties and emotional toll it inflicts on loved ones. It is an experience that leaves you feeling utterly helpless. That's why she has taken up this challenge, driven by a desire to make a difference for families dealing with cancer.
Emma says; "Every one of us knows someone who has been affected by cancer. It's such an incredibly difficult and emotional time. Seeing someone you love battle cancer can leave you feeling so powerless."
The support provided by organisations like Macmillan Cancer Support can be a lifeline for those facing the disease. Emma firmly believes that every contribution can help cancer patients and their families with the much-needed support at such a difficult time.
As Emma laces up her hiking boots and sets her sights on the Dorset coast, she feels incredibly fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the UK.
"It's truly a blessing to have the Jurassic Coast just a short drive away," Emma explains. "I've spent hours trekking through its scenic trails, pushing myself to get up and down those steep hills. It's going to be an emotional but incredible day."
Each donation made in support of Emma’s journey will contribute to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping them continue their crucial work in providing care, compassion, and assistance to those who need it the most.
