Ford backs Pirates to rekindle 'treble-winning magic'
Danny Ford backed Pirates’ class of 2025 to rekindle “that treble-winning magic” from their previous campaign.
The Wimborne Road outfit sealed the SGB Championship title, as well as the Knockout Cup and BSN Series to make it an incredible 2024.
Now, with a new look line-up for this season, the Poole promoter is eager to create more memories in 2025.
Speaking at the club’s official press and practice session, Ford said: "Last year was absolutely phenomenal, my favourite year. We had a fantastic team and those finals against Oxford were some of the best meetings I have ever seen.
“Tensions were high and it was great to be involved with. But we knew we would have to make team changes and our task was made a little bit easier with the decisions of Tom (Brennan) and Ben (Cook) to move on from the Championship.
“But to try and find two heat leaders is no easy task especially when you have to lose six-and-a-half points of your team average, but bringing in Lewi (Lewis Kerr) and Anders (Rowe) I am confident we can fill that void and rekindle that treble-winning magic."
Poole’s season gets underway with an away trip to Oxford on Wednesday, April 16, before the doors open officially at Wimborne Road on Good Friday, April 18 (6pm) in the return fixture in the BSN Series.
