Ford prepared for Klindt reunion in Gladiators clash

Promoter Danny Ford is braced for the return of Poole favourite Nicolai Klindt to Wimborne Road, as he gets set to lead the charge for Plymouth on Wednesday (7.30pm).

The dynamic Dane, a league winner with the Pirates in 2018, is set to spearhead the Gladiators against the Pirates in the BSN Series group contest.

And Ford, who saw Poole’s scheduled Good Friday home clash against Oxford washed out, is looking forward to seeing his side perform on home shale.

He told the club website: “I know that they are keen to get going in front of a home crowd and just as we have with Oxford, there is always the bragging rights to go for when we ride against Plymouth.

“They will arrive with Nicolai Klindt leading their pack and it is a few years since Nicolai last rode here for us in the Premiership.

“But we saw then what he is capable of as he regularly returned double figures and I am convinced that they will be aiming to put us to the sword."

The Pirates are going for back-to-back wins to start their campaign, having overcome Oxford away from home via a superheat in their opener.
