Dorset's grassroots football volunteers can be nominated for national FA awards

People from across the Dorset football community have the ability to nominate their hardworking volunteers for national recognition.

The FA have today opened nominations for their Grassroots Football Awards, with a range of 12 different categories.

Nominations are now live from now until midnight on April 6, with those within football given the chance to champion their unsung heroes.

Nominations are being accepted via this link.

A post on the Dorset FA website reads: “We want to find the people from across our county who show what it means to be part of making football happen here.

“Make sure you share their story so they can get the recognition they deserve. You can nominate anyone across the 12 categories, and in as many categories as you like.

“Just head over to our nominations page and tell us why they deserve to be a winner.

“Just like last year, as well as a trophy, every national award winner will also enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime, money-can’t-buy experience at Wembley stadium at their own Award ceremony ahead of the Community Shield on 10th August.

“It’s time to pass on your thanks. To show your appreciation. To let every volunteer know how highly they’re valued.”

More than 2,000 people across Dorset are recognised as volunteers in football and can be put forward for nomination.

As well as national awards, the Dorset County FA are also set to host their own awards ceremony at the end of the 2024/25 season.
