Mitchell thankful for 'dream' darts event in Bournemouth

Dorset darts ace Scott Mitchell was proud to step out in front of a home crowd as part of the star-studded South Coast Showdown.

The Bransgore thrower and 2015 Lakeside world champion competed alongside some of the elite players on the PDC circuit at the exhibition, including Dave Chisnall, Rob Cross, Stephen Bunting and Luke Littler.

Mitchell was knocked out in his quarter-final after a narrow defeat to Chisnall, who went on to beat Bunting in the final at the Bournemouth International Centre.

The man nicknamed Scotty Dog posted on his official Facebook page: “Big thanks to all that turned out to be at the Bournemouth International Centre for the South Coast Showdown. 

“It was a dream to play in front of a home crowd and, boy oh boy, you didn’t disappoint.

“Big thanks to ZH LIVE for being brave enough bringing an event to us in Bournemouth.”
