Pirates learn Championship play-off final opponents, with fixture dates confirmed
Poole Pirates will face the Oxford Cheetahs in the SGB Championship grand final over two legs next week.
Neil Middleditch’s men came through their two-legged semi-final against Workington to ensure they moved into the finale, while Oxford beat Scunthorpe to progress to the last two.
Those results ensured the top two in the regular league standings would contest the play-off final.
Oxford will host the first leg on Wednesday, September 25, with Pirates staging the concluding second leg at Wimborne Road on Friday, September 27 (both 7.30pm).
Pirates are still hunting a domestic treble this season.
They are set to face Oxford again in the final of the Championship Knockout Cup, while they will meet either Scunthorpe or Edinburgh in the final of the BSN series.
The Dorset club have only lost once on home shale all season, that came in a 49-41 defeat to Oxford back in August.
