Rowe relishing opportunity to be back at Poole Pirates

Returning Anders Rowe insisted it was important to “finish what I started” with Poole Pirates in 2025, as he gets set for the new campaign.

The 22-year-old rode for the Pirates in 2023 and was part of the side to scoop the inaugural BSN Series title.

Rowe was not included in the class of 2024, which saw the Wimborne Road outfit seal a treble of domestic trophies.

But now he is back in the skull and crossbones for the upcoming campaign, the Weymouth-born racer is eager to make an impact.

Speaking to the Speedway Star, he said: “I had a good 2023 season with Poole and learned a lot as a rider. Towards the end of that season, I really started to dial myself into the track.

“I didn’t get the chance to race there in 2024. But I signed for Glasgow halfway through the season and really kicked on.

“I understand what happened with Poole – it’s business. Whether it’s speedway, football or your normal everyday job, you have to be ruthless in business to succeed.

“Poole made that decision and at the time, it was in their best interests. They won the league in 2024 and it was nice to see.

“I got the call asking if I would like to ride for Poole in 2025 and pretty much said ‘yes’ straight away. It was a nice thing to be offered the chance to go back to Poole and finish what I started.”

He added: “It’s nice to be back with a lot of the faces I know. My grandparents come and watch me race most weeks, which is good. It’s a nice feeling down there.

“For me, it’s nice to be given the chance to ride for Poole. I’m going to go out there, do my best and hopefully bring back as many points as possible.”

Pirates will begin their campaign with a mouth-watering BSN Series double-header against Oxford Cheetahs in April.

The Wimborne Road outfit will make the trip to Cowley on April 16th before returning to for their home leg on Good Friday (April 18th).
