Forest workouts and track studying - Thomsen prepared for campaign with Pirates
Surprise selection Tobias Thomsen revealed his mission to get fit and firing ahead of a return to British speedway.
The 29-year-old is set to make his debut in the skull and crossbones when Poole Pirates host Oxford in the BSN Series on March 29.
Dane Thomsen is set to fly in and out of his homeland throughout the campaign due to other work commitments and to support his young family.
But when he is ready to race in the UK this season, the charger insisted he will be at the peak of his powers for the Wimborne Road outfit.
Thomsen told the club’s official website: “I have been preparing for the season in much the same way as I would for any league by doing high pulse training.
“Personally, I don't do a lot of long runs but every night before bedtime I do interval training out in the forest to get myself in to some really good condition for the season.
“I am also focusing a lot on my weight and I want to be as low as possible before the season starts.”

Thomsen had two spells as part of the Birmingham Brummies side at SGB Championship level during 2019.
But with the make-up of the division changing since then, he has had an eagle eye from a far when examining tracks that he is yet to grace.
"I have spent a lot of time watching footage from Poole but not just limited to the Poole track,” he added.
“I have been studying other tracks too. Fortunately, I had that short spell with Birmingham in 2019 and I learned a lot of tracks then.
“But I feel more and more there are similarities, especially with the Championship tracks, with European tracks.
“You have Workington, for instance, which on footage looks a big easy track to go round and even Poole looks to me a bit like a European track.
“Obviously you have Plymouth which I think will be the most difficult to go to and then there is Edinburgh and Berwick. I've been to those two and they are tough ones, though fun ones.
“Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to the challenge. I like the tough tracks as I always like to challenge myself. I like the deep tracks and I like the rough tracks so I am going to be in for a treat for sure.
"It is all positive from me and I am determined to come over there and absolutely kill it. I am going for it. That is the plan. It is an important season for me.
“I will be flying in and out as I am keeping my job going over here and I also have a family to look after.
“I have my wife and son Tyler and another son on the way, so the family life for me is good but of course I need to provide for them as well, besides racing."
Pirates are set to hold heir annual press and practice day on Wednesday, March 27.
