Thomsen predicts 'exciting things' will happen at Poole Pirates next season

Tobias Thomsen believes he will be back better than before for Poole Pirates in 2025 and predicted “exciting things” happening.

The dazzling Dane became a fan favourite at Wimborne Road last season, on the way to helping them capture a domestic treble of trophies.

And having got the call to represent Poole once again, Thomsen is determined to raise his game as part of the main body of the septet.

He said: “I've got some really, really good people behind me for next season, with some people helping me out with some stuff that I struggled with last season.

"Like, I will have a full time mechanic for next season. It is a guy who is coming in with a lot of experience. I had a good guy at home last season but he got sick towards the end of the season and he couldn't do it away.

“Once that happened, I was struggling a bit as I was doing all the bike washing myself and all that, but for next year, I got a guy who'll do everything and he's paid for by a sponsor and I really can't say thank you enough for that.

"I know that's is going to up my game as I can focus on racing the bikes and not worrying about doing the bikes and having to fly in early.

“I was having to cut down on some of my sleep just to do the bikes. Now I have this guy who is very professional and going to do my bikes. I think that's the game changer for me to have a guy like that coming in."

He added: "I have to say, It is really looking bright for 2025 and I want to hit the ground running as I want to start the season as I ended the 2024 one.

"I am really looking forward to seeing all you guys next year for sure. I feel some really exciting things are going to happen.”

Poole have announced their one-to-seven for next season, with Thomsen being joined by Richard Lawson, Zach Cook, Lewis Kerr, Paul Starke, Anders Rowe and William Cairns.

With Cairns not being eligible to ride until he is 16 in June, the club are set to name a temporary signing to start the season at reserve.
